About LaGrange College

LaGrange College is located in LaGrange, which is a city in the US state of Georgia, in Troup County, with a population of nearly 25 000 inhabitants, estimated during the 2000 census. It was founded in 1831, fact which makes it the oldest private college in the state. It first began as a female educational institution, under the name of LaGrange Female Academy, its current name being adopted in 1934, 19 years before officially becoming co-ed.

LaGrange currently offers its students degrees in some 52 undergraduate academic areas, plus a Graduate program in Education.

Athletics

The athletic teams at LaGrange College are known as the Panthers and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are red and black.
